The Bertole

Le Bertole, a Bortolin family farm, has quickly established itself both on the Italian and international scene for the production of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Docg sparkling wines. The excellent quality of the company's grapes is also due to the strict respect of both the production regulations, with very low yields per hectare, and to the very nature of the territory characterized by a unique microclimate. The first winemaking began in the 1980s, in 1997 Gianfranco Bortolin and his wife Viviana created their own winery with the "Le Bertole" brand, from the vineyard of the same name that produces Cartizze, located in the territory of Saccol, a hamlet of Valdobbiadene that has 17 hectares of property. In the heart of Valdobbiadene Docg, in a small, well-defined area of 106 hectares of vineyards, Cartizze Superiore originates, the most noble and refined part: a true Cru that is born from the perfect combination of a mild microclimate and ancient soil originating from the raising of sea beds. In the Cartizze area, all vineyard management is done manually (heroic agriculture) and the harvest is done slightly later than in Valdobbiadene.
