Taurasi Alta Valle is the result of a careful selection of Aglianico grapes grown around the company in the municipality of Castelfranci at 690 meters above sea level, with a south-west exposure and a yield per hectare of approximately 50 quintals. The process requires that Alta Valle, after a long maceration with the skins, is refined for approximately 24/36 months in oak barrels. Intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The bouquet is distinguished by its aromas of ripe fruit, black mulberry with hints of incense, tobacco, cinchona, leather, pepper, licorice and roasted coffee all in full harmony with hints of violet and mentholated notes. In the mouth it has a great structure and density, with adequate freshness, which makes it very long-lived while maintaining its great olfactory and gustatory potential.
Hills of Castelfranci
Castelfranci is a small village in Alta Irpinia, 30 km from the capital Avellino. Thanks to its geographical position, the village is surrounded by lush spontaneous vegetation, vineyards that produce the grapes of the most classic Aglianico and Taurasi Docg wines, and olive groves. Immersed in the greenery of the typical vineyards of the area, the Cantina Colli di Castelfranci is a winery created by young people who are passionate about their work and who strongly believe in the potential of their land. The company was born from the union of the Gregorio-Colucci families, winemakers since always and great lovers of their land, who since 2002 have combined tradition and technology, making and bottling their own grapes and, with the construction of a modern cellar, producing refined wines intended exclusively for catering. The enthusiasm of the young company, the dedication to work and above all the high quality of the products, make the Cantina Colli di Castelfranci one of the most important companies in the production of fine wines in the Campania region.
