Damijan Podversic's Prelit is a red wine with a distinct and decisive flavor, as demonstrated by its bright and intense ruby color. The manual harvest begins at the end of September, the long fermentation is welcomed in wooden vats and the maceration is completed on the skins. The fermentation is spontaneous, without the addition of yeasts and without temperature controls.
Damijan Podversic
A reality that literally comes from a dream: this is the Damijan Podversic winery, which took shape from Damijan's desire. The varieties grown are Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana, Friulano, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Between the rows, careful agronomic choices and natural methods are adopted that are as respectful as possible of the environment and the ecosystem, so that following the rhythms of nature and the lunar phases for all the processes, starting from the mowing of the grass and pruning up to the harvest, strictly manual and in crates, carried out exclusively at optimal ripeness. Even the vinification, carried out entirely in wood, follows the lunar phases, the slow rhythms and tradition, with prolonged contact between the skins and the must, until the end of the fermentations, interspersed with punching down several times a day. The excellent quality and perfect ripeness of the grapes and seeds, combined with Damijan's inspired hand in the cellar and his knowledge of nature and wine, mean that the wines themselves express a disconcerting purity, revealing an intense and defined territoriality to the nose and palate. The winery is also committed to charity with the A3 project: every year a different artist creates unique labels for 15 3-liter bottles, the proceeds of which are donated to associations that help the needy.
