The Kamptal terraces are characterised by their barren primary rocky soils (which, on the lower terraces, are covered with loess and loam), and by the climate: the vineyards are located at an altitude of between 200 and 300 metres at the junction of the Danube Valley and Kamptal. Thanks to the ample daily heat, the grapes enjoy maturity and fullness, while the suction effect of the Kamptal during the evening and night brings fresh air from the north - the Waldviertel - into the vineyards to preserve their freshness and fruitiness. The ripe grapes are harvested by hand in crates and treated very gently with a pneumatic press. The wine is fermented between 15 ° and 20 °C in a stainless steel tank and then filled directly from the lees. On the nose it opens immediately with a whole bouquet of white and yellow flowers (acacia), dry, fragrant and yet suggestive with its light fruity tones such as fresh peaches from the vineyard, a fresh backbone of acidity that highlights spices and minerals, elegant, slender Riesling style. It pairs perfectly with seafood, cold appetizers, grilled fish, white meat, fried or roasted chicken and various Asian dishes (Wok) if not too hot.

Brundlmayer

Weingut Bründlmayer is located in Langenlois, about 70 km northwest of Vienna, upstream along the Danube in the Kamp Valley in Lower Austria. The wooded hills of the Waldviertel protect the vineyards from the cold northwest winds. During the day, the sun warms the stony terraces, while at night the fresh, fragrant forest air flows through the Kamp Valley to the Langenloiser Arena. Willi Bründlmayer manages the family estate together with his wife Edwige, Thomas Klinger and wine master Andreas Wickhoff. “We harvest between September and December. A vineyard is often selectively harvested two or three times in a row
