The grapes to produce this pinot noir are taken from the best vineyards, those in the north, which benefit from a more varied and complex soil composition. The Pommard Les Charmots 1er °Cru from Domaine Philippe Bergeret is produced with pinot noir from old vines, grown in the central hilly area, the best for soil and climate to allow the grapes to acquire a complex and elegant aromatic profile. Intense ruby red color. On the nose it has an aromatic profile of great finesse, with aromas of small berries, red fruit and even a light hint of violet. On the palate it is broad, complex, with a good structure. The tannins are ripe and elegant; the balanced acidity pleasantly refreshes the palate. Persistent finish. It goes well with roast red meats, lamb and game.
Domaine Bergeret
Philippe Bergeret faithfully expresses the character of the village of Pommard, a hamlet of 600 inhabitants immersed in 355 hectares of Pinot Noir vineyards. Bergeret, who is a historic winemaker, owns 4 hectares of old vines distributed over 9 different parcels of the Finage of Pommard. In the highest and lowest part of the hill, the wines with the Village appellation are produced, while in the central area, the prestigious Premier Cru are collected. The faithfully agricultural setting of the viticultural work finds its completion in the historic and ancient cellar where the wines, with judicious slowness, find their personality. The wines of the Finage of Pommard express race and a strong personality that makes them unique and identifiable. The full and tasty fruit is supported by a strong and straight backbone that makes it a wine of ancient workmanship.
