Morellino Di Scansano Docg 2019 - Le Pupille Farm

A cuvée dominated by Sangiovese, with the addition of Alicante and Ciliegiolo, Morellino di Scansano is a young, fruity and soft red wine. Elisabetta's first harvest was in 1985 and since then Morellino has always accompanied the company as a full and constant expression of the territory.

Le Pupille Farm

They have always called them Le Pupille those two farmhouses that from the top of two hills turn their backs on the medieval village of Pereta. For many years there were no vineyards around but cork oaks, wheat, Mediterranean scrub, the most classic of Maremma landscapes of yesteryear. Then it was decided to plant a few rows of Sangiovese, a couple of hectares in all, and the wine that was produced was given as a gift to family friends. But then at Le Pupille everything changed thanks to the enthusiasm and intuition of what was then a very young student, Elisabetta Geppetti. Today Fattoria Le Pupille means 75 hectares of vineyards, over 500,000 bottles produced every year, a presence on the markets of four continents and an undisputed role as Ambassador of the Maremma. Almost thirty years have passed since the dream became reality and as far as tenacity and enthusiasm on Elisabetta Geppetti's part are concerned, nothing has changed, what has made the difference in these years has been the entrepreneurial ability that today sees her managing a company that in terms of size and turnover is the leader in Maremma. Not only that, there is also her private life which for Elisabetta Geppetti means first of all five children, of which the eldest, Clara, is already involved in the front line of the company's activity.
