The Mosel Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett is a beautiful and precise example of the potential of terroir and grape variety, interpreted by the Von Schubert estate. A delicate and pure Kabinett, the result of a selected harvest and fermentation with natural yeasts that stands out for its elegance and length. Straw yellow. On the nose it presents delicate and elegant hints of slate, white pulp fruit and citrus. In the mouth it is tense and lively (residual acidity of 8.8) with a residual sugar (48.5 g/l) that is not invasive and well mixed with the structure. Long and persistent finish on refined and typical spicy notes.
Von Schubert - Grunhaus - Mosel
Dr. Carl von Schubert is a friendly landowner, noble, cultured, well-mannered, well-spoken, elegantly dressed, attached to tradition (the label of his wines has not changed for about a century) and has a moderate tendency to understatement: it is certainly no coincidence that the company car is a green Beetle. The vineyard extends into the Ruwer Valley, a tributary of the Moselle, around a very suggestive old manor house, enriched by an English garden with magnolia trees, gravel paths and a grey dachshund named Fidibus. Here Dr. Von Schubert produces delicate Rieslings that boast mineral acidity, a light fruity flavor and extraordinary maturation. Wines that do not fear aging and that can offer wonders even after more than thirty years! The vineyards in the best position – in front of the manor house, on slopes so steep that they only allow manual work – differ depending on the terrain: the Abtsberg produces wines rich in bouquet and flavor, with a slightly fruity acidity; on the Bruderberg strong, full-bodied and mineral wines mature; finally, on the Herrenberg, the more robust ones are grown, with floral aromas, and a strong acidity.
