Etna Rosso DOC by Tenuta delle Terre Nere is the fruit of Nerello Mascalese grapes combined with a residual portion of Nerello Cappuccio from vineyards located on the northern slopes of Etna at altitudes between 600 and 900 m. After alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature and malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for approximately 10 months in large French wood and 1 month in steel before being bottled. The result is a red that is the legitimate son of the great volcano: fine, with a distinct character even in its youth, a base wine that, thanks to the prevalent portion of Nerello Mascalese, has the makings to evolve splendidly over a period of 6 or 7 years, representing one of the most inviting and complete initiations to the great Etna reds in terms of quality/price ratio – for those who haven't already done so, a wine to try.

Black Land Estate

Tenuta delle Terre Nere is the fruit of over thirty years of passion and profession in the world of great wines. And where I try with all my virtues to express in purity in our wines the very refined and multifaceted Etna microcosm. All with respect and meticulous care, often heavily manual, in biological balance since always. Given the extreme climate, to obtain an ideal maturation, meticulous care in the vineyard becomes fundamental. And it is precisely this, a very high concentration in the work of the vineyards, that distinguishes our estate and that allows us, having a raw material of absolute excellence, a minimal work in the cellar, aimed above all at ensuring that the characteristics of the vine and its specific microclimate are expressed at their best in each wine.
