Bibbiano Estate

The Bibbiano farm is located near Castellina in Chianti, lands where the vine was first cultivated by the Etruscans. The current owners, the Marzi family, arrived in 1865 when the brothers Casimiro and Pietro acquired it from Don Tommaso di Neri dei Principi Corsini. Since then, 5 generations have succeeded one another at the helm of the winery, headed by two brothers, Tommaso and Federico Marrocchesi Marzi. The philosophy of the company is aimed at producing high-quality wines, by virtue of a decisive choice tending to enhance the genius loci of Bibbiano, or the soul of the geographical typicality and human heritage of the place, generating balanced, elegant wines with a beautiful personality, often powerful and with very clear tones. With a careful selection of the grapes during the harvest, still done manually, and by vinifying the vineyards on the different slopes separately, every year we manage to give natural expression to the terroir and its peculiarities. Surrounded by large olive groves, the vineyards extend over an area of about 25 hectares, and are located at an altitude of between 270 and 300 meters above sea level, on hillsides with perfect exposure and an ideal microclimate. The varieties grown are Sangiovese, Sangiovese Grosso, Merlot and Colorino, strictly following organic practices aimed at respecting the surrounding territory as well as preserving its typicality and characteristics.
