Aligote' is a native Burgundy grape variety, the second largest grape in the region after Chardonnay in terms of annual production. It has acquired international appeal as a component of interesting white blends and is also grown in various Eastern European countries. It is a vigorous grape variety capable of vinifying good acidity. In the glass it develops with a straw yellow color. The nose moves on floral touches, which then evolve towards mineral hints and light, more fruity references. Dynamic and tense on the palate, where it enters with a well-balanced light body, characterized by a pleasant refreshing imprint.

Domaine Francois Gay

The domaine was formed on the division of a historic family of Chorey-Les-Beaune. Always suppliers of the great negociants of Beaune, the Gay family, over 30 years ago began to bottle the entire production, completing the entire winemaking chain. Today the domaine is led by the son, a serious and shy winemaker, totally absorbed in the work in the vineyard and not inclined to contact with the outside, a role in which he is replaced by his father, a jovial, enterprising and energetic figure despite being officially retired. The wines are in fact emblematic of their father, an image of the old-school producer who loves solid, structured and meaty Pinots, certainly not very feminine and sycophantic. Symbol of an old idea of a sincere and generous Burgundy, daughter of a terroir of modest vocation. Chorey comes from ten parcels of old vines worked according to the methods of reasoned intervention. The wines have a good structure, they are fruity and soft but with a very masculine expressiveness. The Pinot Noir that comes from this finage is a sincere wine with a direct and masculine expressiveness. The intense aromas are linked to the concentrated fruit with ethereal nuances. On the palate it is vigorous and vibrant with a vein of measured rusticity that brings to mind an ancient Burgundy style.
