Barbera d'Alba from the Seghesio winery comes from vineyards located in the Monforte d'Alba area, defined by soils with a prevalence of calcareous and clayey marl. The harvest takes place between the end of September and the beginning of October. The alcoholic fermentation of the must lasts around 8-10 days and is followed by malolactic fermentation. Maturation takes place 50% inside 30 hl wooden barrels and the remaining 50% inside second passage barriques, for a total period of 13 months.

Typical Langa company: family-run, small-medium sized, strong attachment to its roots. Located in the heart of the Langhe, in Monforte d'Alba, on the eastern slope overlooking the Serralunga hill. The company has 10 hectares of vineyards with a production of about 60,000 bottles per year divided between the great reds of the area: a fresh Dolcetto d'Alba, a characteristic Barbera d'Alba exalted in the "La Chiesa", a refined Langhe Nebbiolo and an elegant Barolo. It all began in 1988 when Aldo and Riccardo brought the first bottle of Barolo signed Seghesio to the market. Today in the company alongside Riccardo are his grandchildren Michela, Sandro and Marco. Together they take care of all aspects of the work: in the vineyard from pruning to harvesting, in the cellar from vinification to sales, in the office from administration to promotion. The Seghesio philosophy is to create wines that fully reflect the characteristics of the land and the fruits from which they come, making the right mix of tradition and winemaking innovations, because they are convinced of the potential that this territory, in its simplicity, can offer.
