Pinot Noir Alto Adige DOC 2015 - Putzenhof
Pinot Noir Alto Adige DOC 2015 - Putzenhof
It is a grape variety that gives pure and elegant wines, like that of the Putzenhof winery, a wine grown in the areas of Laives (BZ), at an altitude of 500 m above sea level, in a very porphyry soil. The harvest takes place in mid-September, and the fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature. The refinement in 12 months in barrel and 4 months in bottle. Ruby red in color, on the nose it has olfactory notes that recall berries, violets and spices. On the palate it is full-bodied. In the aftertaste phase the spiciness perceived by the nose is confirmed. The tannins are still important but noble and very promising. It pairs with meat-based second courses. It is excellent with Fontina Valdostana or with roast chicken.
Putzenhof
Family-run company located south of Bolzano, a pearl nestled in Alto Adige. The story begins way back in 1956, when the grandparents of the current manager of the company, Roman Mottironi, decided to buy an old farmhouse perched on a hill and leaning against the foot of a porphyry wall. Just over five hectares of vineyards and a hectare and a half of apple orchards. Wine production has always been intended to cover its own needs, while in 2009 the bottling of DOC wine for marketing began. The vinified grapes come only from the estate vineyards, located at an altitude ranging from 350 to 600 meters above sea level. The wines produced, thanks to the specific terroir, are characterized by good minerality, excellent flavor and have a very balanced acidity. The company produces both white wines including Sauvignon and Kerner, and red wines such as Lagrein, Merlot, Pinot Noir and the “Bozner Leiten” (Colli di Bolzano), a typical wine of the area, a blend of Schiava, Pinot Noir and Lagrein, of which Putzenhof is the only existing producer.
