Nebbiolo produced from the youngest vines of the company, 20 years on average, located in the vineyards of Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d'Alba, exposed to the south and south-west (vines that could be destined for Barolo). The exclusive refinement in steel, strongly desired, allows the affirmation of the characteristics of this variety. The true Nebbiolo, in purity, which to the eye presents a bright and lively red color. Floral scents emerge on the nose and in the mouth, with refreshing touches of raspberry, cherry, strawberry and currant. Juicy with a marked acidity, widely attractive. Extremely ripe tannins. An approach to Barolo with instant drinkability.
Azelia by Luigi Scavino
The Azelia Farm is located in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, a small town in the heart of the Barolo production area. Founded in 1920 by Cavalier Lorenzo Scavino, Luigi's great-grandfather, the company initially represented a small farming reality. Luigi's grandfather, Alfonso, then decided to vinify the grapes from the estate's vineyards and began to bottle the wine produced. Now Luigi continues to apply his father's teachings, combining them with the right amount of modern techniques, without excluding respect for tradition, and exclusively vinifies grapes from estate-owned vineyards. The work in the vineyards is rigorous since the success of an excellent wine depends almost essentially on the careful work in the vineyard: all operations are carried out manually and scrupulous attention is paid to the green harvest, one of the most important methods for obtaining excellent quality bunches. The vineyards are located in Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d'Alba and Montelupo Albese for a vineyard surface area of 16 hectares, and a production of approximately 80,000 bottles per year.
