One of the historic crus; it is a terraced vineyard cultivated by monks since the 17th century, surrounded by an ancient wall. The Vermentino vines were replanted in 2012 starting from those that had grown here for centuries. Red, ferrous soil. Extension of 5,000 m2, altitude 200 m. Produced in only 2000 bottles. A unique wine, to be preserved. At sight it appears straw yellow with greenish reflections. On the nose you can perceive hints of aromatic herbs such as sage and mint, which we find on the palate together with rosemary, thyme and a pinch of white pepper. All with notes of honey in the background in perfect harmony. Intense, savoury and saline.

Giacomelli Agricultural Company

The company was founded in 1993 by Roberto Petacchi. The company extends over approximately 12 hectares and on 2 levels: on the plain for the production of Liguria di Levante IGT Rosso and Bianco wines, on the hill where the Colli di Luni Doc Vermentino and Rosso wines are produced. The company is based in Castelnuovo Magra, between the Apuan Alps and the Tyrrhenian Sea. This position has a special microclimate due to the cold winds of the mountains and the influence of the sea. Furthermore, the composition of the soil varies greatly. This makes the wines particularly mineral, savoury and with notes of hydrocarbons also because, when it is windy, the salinity of the sea is transported towards the hinterland. The company also aims to enhance the local agricultural heritage, through the diversification of crops and through the recovery of the Boboli vineyard (over 100 years old) and the Giardino dei Vescovi (400 years of history). The selection of wines to be produced is oriented towards vines that give life to original wine products, with a precise common thread of taste, which combines finesse and elegance. The vines of Malvasia Di Candia and Vermentino, give wines renowned for their uniqueness and exquisiteness. The heart is also linked to the red berry, present in smaller quantities than the white but of equal quality, expressed with the Tuscan Sangiovese, Merlot and Canaiolo.
